Manual therapy has a long history within the professions of massage therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, osteopaths, and physicians. Manual therapy is a physical hands-on treatment primarily used to treat common conditions such as neck and shoulder pain, sports injuries, strains, lower back pain, and delayed-onset muscle soreness after strenuous exercise. Techniques are used to improve the limited range of motion and discomfort.
Combining manual therapy and therapeutic/corrective exercise prevents reoccurring and future issues. These treatments should only be performed by state-licensed therapists because they are not in the legal scope of practice for personal trainers, yoga or Pilates instructors, etc. Stephen Flam has two decades in post-rehabilitation and fitness. He works with everyone from elite athletes looking to perform at their best, to aging individuals who want to maintain strength and be pain-free.
"Stephen has added a level of personal and creative attention to my rehab program for my back that focuses on my personal physiology. There is very little more important to me than feeling healthy, and strong every day which allows me the freedom to do as I choose with my time, without limitation. I was progressing with chiropractic, and core strengthening programs, but Stephen's combination of intensive strengthening and stretching has helped me to more rapidly achieve a new level of core strength, and long-term functional mobility. As a hiker, biker, and passionate traveler I have incorporated many of his ideas into my daily routine."

"I could not have survived the last trimester of my pregnancy comfortably without Stephen. I was having excruciating leg cramps and back aches which were making it difficult to walk and sleep. Stephen gave me weekly massages which were fantastic. He checked in with me during the massage about my comfort level and the pressure. My leg cramps and back aches subsided after the first session! He knew the areas that he could not massage because of the pregnancy and also suggested stretches to do between sessions to alleviate the cramping. I recommend Stephen without reservation; he is phenomenal! My only regret is that I didn't start using him earlier in my pregnancy."
