    Rapid Release Technology/Vibration Therapy

At Pinnacle Fitness and Wellness, we believe that to adequately alleviate pain symptoms you

must target the root of the problem. Our holistic approach to healing has led us to incorporate a variety of noninvasive services into our treatment plans. These services require no drugs or surgery, but instead naturally and gently work to heal the issue at the source. One innovation that our chiropractors frequently turn to is Rapid Release Technology. This treatment utilizes a handheld device to blast away scar tissue and nerve-restricting blockages, freeing the body from pain, tension, and limited range of motion. Read on to learn more about how rapid-release therapy is a safe and affordable solution for treating certain types of chronic pain.

    Manual Therapy

A safe, non-invasive approach to pain relief that targets soft tissue problems affecting nerves,

muscles, tendons, and ligaments. A variety of hands-on, percussive massage and high-speed

vibration therapy are used. Manual Therapy is primarily used to treat common conditions such as

golf and tennis elbow, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, and many sports injuries. Effective at

breaking down scar tissue that is constricting mobility and function. Combination Manual

Therapy with 30-minute Performance Stretching is the total package for improving sports

    performance.

    What is Rapid Release Technology?

Rapid Release Technology, often referred to by its abbreviation RRT is a handheld tool that

harnesses the power of vibration to break down adhesions such as scar tissue and contractures.

RRT devices are registered as Class 1 Medical Devices by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Essentially, this means that they are at the lowest level of risk of all medical devices. The simple and straightforward design of RRT devices allows them to safely be used in all chiropractic offices, and without the risk to the patient that often accompanies such breakthrough technologies. RRT uses high-frequency vibrations at short strokes to deliver up to 170 hertz to the affected area. The optimal design of RRT devices allows them to be used almost anywhere across the body, from the larger muscles of the back and legs to even small joints like the toes and fingers.

What is the Purpose of RRT?

The purpose of RRT is to target soft tissue problems affecting nerves, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Often these problems exist as blockages, such as scar tissue. As we often speak about in chiropractic, when nerve flow in the body is blocked, we can experience pain, numbness, inflammation, and even loss of motion. To properly relieve the body of these pain symptoms, the blockage must be cleared, and the nerves freed. The vibration offered by rapid-release therapy works to release aches, pains, and stiffness. RRT can relax tight muscles, release trapped nerves, and break down scar tissue that is constricting mobility and function.

How RRT Helps with Scar Tissue

Following trauma such as overuse, injury, wear and tear, and surgery, the body forms scar tissue.

The development of scar tissue is a normal reaction within the body’s natural healing process. In doing so, the body rushes new collagen cells to the point of injury in order to repair and strengthen the damaged tissue.

However, while collagen can withstand extreme tension within the body, it is rigid and often inflexible. The scar tissue it forms also lacks blood vessels, meaning the tissue receives no circulation. For these reasons, scar tissue becomes brittle and constrictive. This tissue sequesters nerves, limits flexibility, reduces the range of motion, and often causes pain. It is the objective of RRT vibration therapy to penetrate into and break apart this problematic scar tissue.

    How Does RRT Work?

RRT works by delivering high-frequency impulses directly into the tissue. The handheld device

provides patients with a quick, painless, and lasting treatment option. The high intensity of the

vibration can be used over clothing, making the process as easy as a home visit or at one of our locations. The device was designed to offer five treatment surfaces, which also gives your massage therapist control over the intensity and duration of the treatment. The five treatment heads include:

    1. Soft Tip – A softer texture for hands, fingers, feet, and toes.
    2. Actuator Tip – A targeted head to focus on specific treatment areas.
    3. Large Tip – The most frequently used head, designed to cover larger muscles and areas of tissue.
    4. Side Surface – A larger surface for large muscle groups, such as the trapezius muscle.
    5. Treatment Cap – Largest treatment surface for gentle therapeutic application. As with all treatments, the duration and number of treatments necessary are dependent on the specific medical condition and needs of the patient.

Who Can Benefit from Rapid Release Therapy

Those suffering from pain and tension in the soft tissue as well as the joints can benefit from the use of RRT. Common issues resolved with rapid release therapy include:

    • Back Pain
    • Shoulder Pain
    • Tennis Elbow
    • Headaches
    • Trapped Nerves
    • Scar Tissue
    • Muscle Spasms
    • Ankle Pain
    • Tendonitis
    • Limited Range of Motion
    • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
    • Pinched Nerves
    • Contractures (Shortening of muscles or joints)
    • Knee Pain
    • Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (Lockjaw)

Additionally, RRT is a cost-effective option for patients looking for a holistic, natural approach

to pain relief. When compared to surgery that is often recommended to treat scar tissue and soft

tissue dysfunctions, RRT is non-invasive, convenient, and affordable. Plus, it requires no downtime and delivers results that last.

What Are the Risks of RRT?

As RRT devices are Class 1 Medical Devices, they are at the lowest level of risk of all medical devices. Patients do not experience discomfort from this treatment. It is safe, painless, and typically, only takes 5 minutes per treatment. This non-invasive technique is designed to provide instant pain relief and has no reported risks or side effects. What are you waiting for? Pain relief is only a few short vibrations away.
